The mini-series starts off like another tired Hulk Versus Iron Man combat story, but then things get worse as the series quickly dissolves into dry dialog, boring interpersonal conflict between Banner and Stark and ultimately fizzles. It's too bad considering this was a tie-in to the Indestructible Hulk/Hulk story arc Waid and Bagley were working on (and then Waid wound up handing off to Duggan and Bagely to carry out).

The entire premise of this series is this; Hulk and Iron Man now have some shared memories as the result of being hit with the explosion from the Orb's detonation of the Watcher's Eye. And now we are asked to witness whether Tony Stark was responsible for what happened to Banner.

This is true soap opera quality melodrama in comic book form. It feels forced. It's quite apparent that Waid was done with Hulk when he wrote this and that he was simply grasping at straws. But maybe he could get a job writing for "Days of Our Lives" or "As My Stomach Churns".

Okay that wasn't fair of me I know. Waid did a great job with Indestructible Hulk and deserves credit for that. But you know the old saying, it's better to burn out than fade away? Waid should have hung up is Hulk Pen at the end of Indestructible.

But on a lighter side, what we do get that's good is we get to see the birth of the current Hulk featured now and we get more of Bagley's awesome art work.

All in all I grade this book a B. The story is not that great, but the artwork and the lead up to Duggan's hulk story he is carrying on works.

Until next time... Remember... It doesn't have to be so damn melodramatic.
