Deadpool Max brings Wade Wilson, a highly sought after, but the unstable mercenary/killer together with a handler; Bob. Bob's job is the not so simple task of keeping Deadpool in line - by any means necessary. Unfortunately for Bob, Deadpool considers Bob a sidekick. And as we all know, it's always the job of the sidekick to take one, or two, for the team.

But in the end, Bob manages to keep Wade focused on the likes of Hammerhead, Baron Zemo and the Taskmaster - and although we gets a glimpse of the Deadpool's tragic upbringing, it's clear that Deadpool isn't the only damaged soul in this book as Bob has his own skeletons.

Deadpool Max is Deadpool uncensored and is brought to life on the page by David Lapham's script, the same writer who helps bring Crossed to life occasionally, along with Kyle Baker on Pencils. So with a writer from Crossed at the helm of the script and a MAX stamp on the book, you know the gloves are off on this one.

Deadpool Max takes the jokes and innuendos usually found in Deadpool books and amps them up. Essentially, remove the censors that usually make Deadpool a little more kid friendly and this is Deadpool Max.

The artwork is a mix of simplistic and elaborate designs, but remains very entertaining throughout.

All in all I would grade Deadpool Max a solid B. It's a fun story, taking an already edgy, quirky character and pushing him over that edge.

Until next time... Remember what happens in Deadpool the comic stays in a Deadpool comic.
