Untold tales of the Punisher is everything you would expect from a Punisher comic and more. This is the R-rated version of a Punisher comic that you would have never seen in the 90s and this is why I love Max, published by Marvel.

This story isn't a punisher story so much as it is a story of a gambling addict that get in over his head with debt to the mob and has to make a choice; kill someone for the mob to erase his debt or get erased himself. The one thing this screw up didn't count on was his inability to not screw the pooch.

This is an adult comic. It has language, graphic violence, gore, implied sex and adult themes. So parent consider yourself warned.

With that said, I found this to be a very entertaining and worthwhile read from start to finish.

The artwork is fantastic. It is gritty, detailed, stylish and compliments the book in every way shape and form.

I grade this book a solid B. A good read and good art that compliments throughout and outside of some plot issues, there aren't any real issues.
